We've been live on Kickstarter now for just over one week and oh what a week it has been! We can't express how much we appreciate everyone's encouragement and support! We have put our all into making CuBowl a reality for quite some time now and getting to dive into the pet lovers community, and carving out our own niche CuBowl community has by far been the most rewarding aspect of all of this! We're so excited for everyone's four legged friends to receive their CuBowls! We're sure they are going to love them, especially in the summer heat when microbes multiply faster in other bowls and pets need more fresh water. We've been getting amazing feedback from cat and dog owners such as "My cat is drinking more than she used to!".
Our first production batch is underway. If you were one of the first 130 backers, you are entitled to bowls from this production batch. We are expecting to ship CuBowls out to you in June. If you were not one of the first 130 backers you may still get this early delivery, as will current and future backers of the large, xlarge, and giant bowls (we ordered mostly large bowls in our second batch).
Silver
After talks with our manufacturer we've decided to add silver plated bowls to our rewards. We were planning to focus on just copper plating to limit the variation in the bowls we offer, but we smoothed out the logistical issues we were concerned with. We'll produce the silver bowls along with the copper bowls in our third production batch that will start at the end of this campaign.
Silver plating is more expensive, however silver plating is food safe! There is scientific consensus that silver plate has antimicrobial properties. Like copper, silver CuBowls (yup, we couldn't think of a better name) will need to be polished as needed to remove the slow process of tarnish. Alternatively tarnished silverplating can be reversed by boiling the bowls with a sheet of stainless steel. They are handwash only.
How to order silver
If you're interested in adding silver Cubowls to your order you can just sit tight. At the end of the campaign we will use backerkit to allow adding additional silver and copper bowls to our backers orders. Just make sure you are pledged at the largest size you want. If you'd like to switch to all silver please switch before the campaign ends. Note that adding or switching to silver will put you in the second production delivery group. We're expecting to ship out this group in late July / early August.
